-----Phase 1----- UNSEEN UNIVERSITY LIBRARY Deep within the Unseen University (which itself can be considered deep within the city of Ankh-Morpork), the legendary wizards’ Library lies. It is an awe-inspiring place, oozing with magical energy, and filled with towering bookcases and grimoires that leap from shelf to shelf when they think you’re not looking. If you were to venture further into the shelves, you may find yourself taking two left turns and ending up to the right, or brushing past a shelf you’d swear you walked past a minute ago. The sheer concentration of magical lore within the Library’s ancient tomes can be blamed for this potent warping of reality, which some say connects the Library’s contents to those of every other library in the multiverse. With a guide, you could probably find any information you desired. Three portals stand near the Library’s entrance. You can go to the WHITE TOWER, the APARTMENT, or CAMELOT.

Daffy pulls out two gold coins, and hands them over to me.

I fumble them a bit and drop them! Jeez, that's not like me.

I pick them up, and let Daffy use the machine.

Daffy walks over to the magical machine, and follows the instructions to create three copies of his wizard business cards. But what's this?

The machine rumbles a bit... is it malfunctioning...?

Oh, it stopped rumbling, that's good. And look, it spit out three - wait - it gave Daffy FOUR business cards!

The extra one's on the house.

Beatrice approaches me, and privately tells me about the information she's looking for. Then Tarhiel tells me he's looking for books on flight or levitation-related magic. I begin to lead them into the shelves, when -

I slip (and slide) on a banana peel!

I normally clean those up...

I get back up, rubbing my leathery buttocks in annoyance. Slightly discombobulated, I continue into the shelves. Beatrice grabs a book from the section I point out to her, as does Tarhiel in the section I point out to him.

Once Beatrice returns, Mickey holds out a sheet of paper in his big gloved hand. He gives her a pen to use.

But as she leans over to sign her name...

The sheet of paper slips out of Mickey's hand, and falls to the ground!

Whoops!

He picks it back up.

He enters the shelves with a purpose, scanning the books along the way. He emerges with a small mortar and pestle, made of pewter!

I lead the Lich deep into the shelves, where the laws of reality begin to fray due to the power of the magical tomes here.

The Lich indicates that they plan to leave the library, so I unchain the book, but place a timed spell on it that will recall it here in three phases.

It feels like I pulled a muscle this time.

Luckily, the table is light enough that Himiko is able to lug it the rest of the way into Camelot without needing much more of my help.
